All species, including humans, have evolved specialised ways of adapting to the world. Providing insight into the marvels of natural engineering, Biomechanics: The Machine Inside shows how living things navigate the world around them to survive. Through immersive design, real objects, scientific models, interactives and media, this exhibition will take visitors past the familiar surface of nature and deep into its invisible workings. This exhibition is for anyone who has ever wondered how blood gets up to a giraffe’s head, how squishy earthworms manage to dig in hard ground or how much stronger the hyena’s bite is than a human’s.
