- Family Day at the 2020 Canadian International AutoShow is packed with fun activities, including the Toys"R"Us Test Drive Experience that allows kids to run battery-powered vehicles through a "road" course. -

Among the more than 1,000 vehicles under the roof of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre are scores of family-oriented cars, trucks, vans and SUVs, but that’s just the start of it. The AutoShow is also packed with family-friendly features that will keep kids of all ages engaged and entertained.

Family Day at the AutoShow is presented by Toys"R"Us Canada, Kijiji Autos, 407ETR and VIA Rail Canada.

β€œMany families make an adventure to the Canadian International AutoShow an important part of their winter activities,” says Nicole Dalton, director of marketing at Toys"R"Us Canada. β€œWe first sponsored the AutoShow last year and received positive feedback. We’re very excited to be offering parents even more this year.”

Among the family-friendly exhibits, activities and features at the 2020 AutoShow are:

Fun for 4 Family Admission Ticket

Toys"R"Us PlayCare Centre

β€’ Kids looking for the thrill of play can visit the Toys"R"Us PlayCare Centre, a professionally supervised children’s area featuring arts and crafts, toys and an abundance of activities for children to enjoy. (South Building, 600 Level)

Babies"R"Us Nursing Centre

β€’ For new parents, the Babies"R"Us Nursing Lounge provides a quiet space to tend to little ones. (South Buildig, 600 Level)

Toys"R"Us Test Drive Experience

β€’ One of the main features of the company’s activities will be the Toys"R"Us Test Drive Experience, which affords children the chance to ride battery-powered miniature models of popular vehicles including a BMW M8 GTE, Polaris RZR 900, Ford F-150 and the Pink MINI Cooper. Toys"R"Us Pop-Up Shop

β€’ From die-cast toy cars to ride-on vehicles and the latest car seats, the Toys"R"Us pop-up shop will be the definitive destination where the worlds of cars and toys intersect. Plus, purchase any of the featured ride-on vehicles and receive free shipping. (South Building, in Castrol Alley on the 700 Level)

Big Boys with Cool Toys

β€’ Canadaβ€˜s largest remote control hobby store will be exhibiting some of the coolest remote control products available in the industry at the Big Air Freestyle Park. Not only will they be showing them off, they will be taking these vehicles to the maximum levels of jumping, backflips, front flips and much more. See the excitement before your eyes with remote control hobby vehicles jumping 20, 30 and 40 feet in the air. (South Building, in Castrol Alley on the 700 Level)

ONWARD (and a little backwards): The Pixar Vehicle Experience

β€’ Pose and have your picture taken with some of your favourite vehicles from Pixar films. The centerpiece is β€œGuinevere,” the groovy purple van with a Pegasus mural and crescent moon side windows from the upcoming movie Onward, with life-sized cut outs of the main characters Ian and Barley and a wizard peforming magic tricks. Fan favourite Lightning McQueen from the Cars franchise and the stunt motorcycle ridden by Duke Caboom from Toy Story 4 will also be around. (South Building, on the 600 Level and in Castrol Alley on the 700 Level)

Canadian Military Celebrated

β€’ Look in awe at the sheer size and magnitude of the tanks and personnel carriers that have assisted Canadian service men and women, courtesy the Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum and INKAS Armoured Vehicle Manufacturing. (South Building, 800 Level)

OBLIVION Car Show Retro Arcade

β€’ Never mind the cars that will have mom and dad thinking back to their youthful days β€” including the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future and KITT from the β€˜80s TV show Knight Rider β€” this celebration of the pop culture of the 1980s and ’90s includes a retro arcade with some classic video games in the old upright cabinet format. (South Building, in Castrol Alley on the 700 Level)
eSports Gaming

β€’ Test your skills in an attempt to become the Forza Motorsport 7 WorldGaming Network North American champion, driven by Pfaff. There is $20,000 in prize money on the line, so get your practice in and come to the AutoShow to try and register the fastest lap time to qualify for the finals. (South Building, 700 Level)

Light Up the Night

β€’ Let the kids hear the rumble and power of the supercars in Auto Exotica with the popular Light Up the Night, Presented by Sirius XM. Live fire ups of the cars happens every night after 6 pm β€” and incidentally there is a $6 discount on adult tickets after 6 pm as well! (North Building, 100 Level)

Visit the Maritimes

β€’ Visit the VIA Rail Canada display for a chance to win a return trip from Toronto to Halifax. Mitsubishi β€” Outlander PHEV Selfies

β€’ Families have a chance to wine a $500 gas gift card by taking a selfie with their favourite Mitsubishi. Showcased at the booth is the family-friendly Outlander PHEV decade with art to highlight key benefits of driving a plug-in hybrid vehicle for families (North Building, 300 Level)

Nissan β€” Autograph & Photo Session

β€’ For the racing fans, Marco Signoretti, the 2019 Nissan Micra Cup Champion, will be at the Nissan display for a photo and autograph session on from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Family Day weekend. (North Building, 300 Level)

Subaru β€” Beat the goat to become the GOAT

β€’ Think you can beat a goat in a staring contest? Made famous in Subaru’s most recent marketing campaign, a digital version of the Subaru goat will be around β€” take a chance to look the goat straight in the eyes – don’t blink before it does for a chance win prizes! (North Building, 300 Level)
