Webinar Offers Resources for Women Supporting Loved Ones with Mental Illness / Substance Use Disorders

Wednesday, 24 November 2021 12:00.PM

One in five Canadians experience a mental health or addiction issue each year, and the majority of those with substance use disorders are male. Women, as nurturers, are often in a caregiver role and unsure where to turn for help.

This webinar, which coincides with National Addictions Awareness Week and Alberta's Family Violence Prevention Month, is designed as a resource for women who are supporting loved ones with mental health and/or substance use disorders and need practical advice. Panelists with lived experiences and mental health advocates will share their perspectives for the benefit of others faced with a struggling spouse, child, sister, parent or friend.
