- NEW Indo-Malaya Boardwalk, officially opened on the November 17th, 2024 is a second modern boardwalk with full accessibility to reach upper level of the Toronto Zoo pavilions. -
On Sunday, November 17, there was the official opening of the new boardwalk from the Indo-Malaya Pavillion to the other outdoor pavilions of the zoo. It was the right time for Zoo Toronto to replace the old boardwalk, built in 1974, with a new, more modern one.
The financial question of building a new boardwalk has been considered at the provincial and city levels, and the green light has been given to another wonderful zoo project, thanks to which its visitor numbers can substantially increase. After all, a new boardwalk will expand accessibility to visit the animal pavilions above the center of the zoo.
The Toronto Zoo does its best to ensure that any resident of Toronto and surrounding areas as well as tourists got a chance to enjoy the magnificent nature of Rouge Park and the modern improved indoor and outdoor animal pavilions.
