The City of Toronto has issued the 2025 interim property tax bills β the first of two annual tax bills sent to property owners. Property taxes are one of the ways the City funds essential services that keep Toronto running including emergency services, public transit, road maintenance, parks and community programs.
Property owners who are not signed up for pre-authorized payment must make their interim bill payments by Monday, March 3, Tuesday, April 1 and Thursday, May 1. The 2025 final tax bill will be mailed in May. The last three instalments are due on Wednesday, July 2, Friday, August 1 and Tuesday, September 2.
For property owners enrolled in the Pre-Authorized Tax Payment program, due dates vary based on the selected instalment plan. The first payments cover the interim property tax bill and the remaining payments are for the final property tax bill issued in May.
- Two-instalment plan: The interim tax bill payment is due on Monday, March 3. The final property tax bill is due on Wednesday, July 2.
- Six-instalment plan: The interim tax bill is paid in three instalments on Monday, March 3, Tuesday, April 1 and Thursday, May 1. After receiving the final property tax bill in May, the remaining three instalments are due on Wednesday, July 2, Friday, August 1 and Tuesday, September 2.
- 11-instalment plan: The interim tax bill is paid over five instalments on Tuesday, February 18, Monday, March 17, Tuesday, April 15, Thursday, May 15 and Monday, June 16. After receiving the final property tax bill in May, the remaining six instalments are due on Tuesday, July 15, Friday, August 15, Monday, September 15, Wednesday, October 15, Monday, November 17 and Monday, December 15.
Toronto City Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, February 11 to discuss the proposed 2025 Budget property tax increase.
This yearβs interim property tax bill includes information about the Vacant Home Tax program (https://www.toronto.ca/va...) highlighting the Wednesday, April 30 deadline to declare a propertyβs 2024 occupancy status.
The City offers a paperless billing option for property tax payments, enabling residents to register for email notifications of their property tax bills. Customers can view, print and download their digital property tax and utility bills through a secure online platform. To avoid late fees and penalties, payments must be received by the City by the due date. Property owners enrolled in pre-authorized payment plans should ensure their account information is up to date to prevent any payment issues.

Property owners can access their property tax account details through the onlineβ―Property Tax Lookup tool (https://www.toronto.ca/se...) or by speaking to a customer service representative at the 311 Tax & Utility Inquiry Line, available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers outside Toronto can call 416-392-2489 and TRS users can call 711 or 416-338-0889.

Property Tax, Water and Solid Waste Relief Programs provide financial support to eligible low-income seniors and residents with disabilities in Toronto.
