Show Preview and First Impressions
The show greeted us with rain. The preview day was gloomy and overcast, and by evening, it began to rain. It was a light, even pleasant rain that didn't dampen the spirits of the crowd; instead, it added an air of mystery and charm to the organizers' creations. And there was plenty to be charmed by. In the small park surrounding the Markham Museum, visitors were treated to a veritable museum of pumpkin sculptures.

The show begins with a maze, though entering it is optional and not included in the ticket price. It is well worth a visit, however, as it appeals to both adults and children. Although small in size, it is surprisingly easy to get lost inside. Actors portraying wizards, pumpkins, and ghosts are on hand to point the way out.
Speaking of the performers, there are enough of them in the pumpkin park to make the visit a real treat for children. You can encounter them everywhere - from the start of the path, lined with amazing sculptures, all the way to the end.

The main entrance to the show features branded gates bearing the event's name and illuminated pumpkins. The path is lit by blue lights, creating a serene, nocturnal atmosphere punctuated by the sounds of nature settling down for the night. One thing is certain, though: the show won't let you fall asleep.
Amazing pumpkin sculptures line the entire route visitors walk. Each installation is paired with its own music and sound effects—so effectively that the sculptures seem to come to life right before your eyes. The lighting and movement blend harmoniously with the surrounding natural landscape. A light rain that began unexpectedly added its own touch to this harmonious scene: blue lights lining the paths were reflected in shallow puddles, while nearby illuminated installations cast long shadows, further enhancing the atmosphere - a blend of Halloween mystery and the cozy charm of a beautiful night-time park.

Along the way, children encounter their favorite characters - figures that seem to have stepped straight out of books and screens into real life, drawing closer to the kids and enriching their experience during the few hours spent in this amazing park. Children eagerly strike up conversations and play games with them, and the actors - dressed in wonderfully chosen costumes - happily respond in kind. In short, it is a scene of perfect harmony and connection between generations.

The show’s organizers have prepared a wide variety of activities for children, ensuring there is never a dull moment. A dedicated children's play area kicks off the event, and a "spooky" maze is also part of the fun designed exclusively for kids. There are no scary characters jumping out of nowhere, and no blood-curdling screams; dark sections of the maze alternate with bright, colorful installations. This transforms the maze into a delightful game rather than a place of terrifying monsters that children might traditionally fear to enter.
