Handcrafted, luxurious lipsticks made with ingredients you can actually pronounce!

"Welcome to LIPCANDY! That’s me! I work in the media industry, I’m raising two boys, humouring one husband and now I’m an entrepreneur. I never thought I’d call myself an entrepreneur. But I am now, so I should get used to it.

So, what is LIPCANDY?

I started LIPCANDY for a lot of reasons. The first was I felt there was a need for a lipstick that looked great but was also made from better ingredients.

Did you know that you consume about 30% of the lipstick you wear!?! Think about that. Then think about that over a lifetime. And do you know what most lipsticks are made of? Errr yeah, you don’t wanna know.

These beauties are all handmade, with love, natural ingredients you can actually pronounce, and no preservatives-like parabens, petroleum-based oils, or artificial fragrances. My colours are rich, luxurious and look amazing on every skin tone.

Speaking of skin tone, we get to the other reason I started LIPCANDY. I was born in Guyana and grew up in Canada. My grandmother- who was born in India, named me Basmatee, it means “the fragrant one”.

When my parents first arrived in Canada they settled in Newmarket, Ontario. Basmatee wasn’t a name the local folks were used to, much less the colour of my skin. It wasn’t easy fitting in. That difficult time made me stronger and helped shape me to become the person I am today.

Over the years, I have grown to accept who I am, embrace my background, and be proud of my name. After all, it’s what that is unique about each of us that makes us beautiful.

Lipstick looks different on every skin tone so I set out to create a natural product that compliments everyone, AND makes their lips feel soft and look sexy for the person wearing it….and to whomever they’re kissing!!

I’m just a mom with a dream trying to rethink the beauty industry one lipstick at a time.

Hope you enjoy wearing my products as much I do.

Reach out any time...I would love to hear from you!

Basmatee"
